Our long-standing customer is a subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn with 525 employees and operates 750 maintenance vehicles for rail network maintenance and inspection. In a joint project, an automated reporting system is to be implemented in order to reduce the manual effort involved in generating operational key figures.

Customer situation

  • The data collection of order, scheduling and vehicle data was carried out using an operational scheduling system
  • The generation of operational key figures and reports previously required a time-consuming manual process by employees
  • Information research was time-consuming, as there was previously no standardized database at all

Procedure

  • Application of agile methods throughout the entire project duration
  • Prototyping, integration of customer feedback and continuous adaptation as important elements for optimal project management
  • Intensive cooperation with the specialist departments to design customized dashboards in Qlik Sense
  • Design and implementation of data pipelines and a data warehouse
