Our client, the NOSTA Group, is an internationally operating logistics service provider that offers its customers individual full-service solutions in the areas of transportation and goods logistics. The goal of the project order was the preparation of customer data from two transport management systems.
Customer situation
The NOSTA Group is an internationally operating logistics service provider that offers its customers individual full-service solutions in the areas of transportation and goods logistics. As part of this service chain, a large amount of data is generated, which the company would like to evaluate promptly and easily and use as a basis for further business decisions.
Up to now, the data was available in different structures and data formats, and consolidation was time-consuming and error-prone. The data is to be used primarily to enable future-oriented sales planning per profit center and customer.
Approach
The core challenge was the integration of different data sources as well as the mapping of the finance hierarchy with internal activity allocation. At the beginning of the project, a corresponding requirements analysis and a precise description of the future desired reporting system was carried out together with the customer. Subsequently, the data modeling was done by M2, in close coordination with the customer.
The necessary calculation logic was documented by the NOSTA Group, then implemented by M2 and made available as an automated workflow based on the cloud technology AWS Glue.
Project result
Since the successful completion of the project, the desired reporting has been mapped via interactive Tableau dashboards, which visualize the data from various transport management and CRM systems. The full mapping of the different hierarchies of company units could be implemented as desired.
An optimized data model also created the possibility of creating further visualizations on the same data basis in the future, which can be used accordingly by different areas of the company. This was implemented in this form for the first time. The reporting system was also integrated into the internal planning process as a fixed component in accordance with the customer's wishes.
