As you surely know, the election of the presidential office in the United States is an indirect election, in which the citizens of each state cast ballots for the Electors, which are distributed proportionally among the states. The electors in turn cast their votes directly for the president. The candidate who receives at least 270 of the 538 electoral votes wins the election.
With our Tableau Dashboard you can simulate the next U.S. presidential election on the interactive map of the United States. Simply click on any state on the map to see how it changes the percentage of Democratic or Republican voters. For each state, predict whether the Democrats or Republicans will win that state. Or rate a state as a "toss-up" if you think that the votes will be split between the supporters of the two parties.
